DAVIE | St. Bonaventure School students and faculty became a "living rosary" Oct. 12 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the last apparition of Our Lady of Fatima.

The observance was coordinated by middle school teacher Barbara Potts, who reminded the students of Mary's request to pray for peace and an end to war.

"Mary was very clear in what she asked from us: To pray the rosary every day, to pray for peace, and to pray for the end of war.  Her message is as true today as it was then," Potts said. "Today we pray for peace in the world, we pray for victims of natural disasters, we pray for all those who have had to leave their country and for victims of violence. We pray for ourselves, that we may remember what Mary has asked of us."

Faculty members introduced each mystery as individual students from Kindergarten through eighth grade led the rosary, placing flowers before the image of Our Lady at the beginning of each decade.
